Who We Are
What it’s all about...
House of Prayer began in October 1964 when 20 families met in an office building for the first worship service. By the following September, the congregation had grown to 97 members and moved into a newly constructed facility at 1515 Bay Area Blvd, which became our home for the next 40 years. In March 2005, we moved to our current location at 14045 Space Center Blvd. The first service at this location was held on March 13, 2005.
House of Prayer is a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, and proudly serves the Clear Lake area of Houston.
Meet Our Pastor.
Eric Youngdahl was born in Lake Charles, LA and raised in Austin, TX. His first call was to House of Prayer in 2002 as Associate Pastor. In his four year tenure at House of Prayer, Eric was exposed to all areas of ministry and was instrumental in the relocation of the church to its current site.
In the spring of 2006, Eric accepted his second call as Associate Pastor to Mount Olivet Lutheran Church, Minneapolis, MN. At Mount Olivet, Eric's portfolio includes being the Lead Pastor of the West Campus in Victoria, MN as well as the Pastoral Advisor to Children and Family Ministry. In June 2018, Eric was called to be Senior Pastor at House of Prayer.
Eric's wife, Lindsay, is the Director of Athletics at The Awty International School. They have three kids: Ford (12th grade), Landry (9th grade), and Miller (5th grade); and one dog- Maevis.
